Run your business—don’t let it run you

It’s hard to build a winning business if you are not in control and many business owners will understand exactly what I mean by this statement. If your business is running you it’s time to make some changes. Many of the tips covered in this book address aspects of this concept but you need to make a very conscious decision that you are taking control of your business and it will be run on your terms.

Feelings of being out of control, continually stressed out and over worked and fear of going broke all need to be released. Many of these will have built up over time and they will be so firmly entrenched that it is hard to get rid of them. It takes constant effort not to slip back into the old patterns and familiar ground. Changing your business and taking control needs to be done one day at a time. It starts with small changes, a realisation that you will benefit from these changes and your enjoyment and satisfaction for your business will return.

This is not an easy tip to give tangible advice about. Personally, I know I feel much happier when I am in the driving seat of my business and it is developing and growing the way I want it to. The difference is all in the mindset. Change that and everything else will follow.
